NAKANOIIIIZZZEEE

I really miss having a mouse. Laptops are great and all but things like drawing stuff in paint, playing minesweeper etc are just that much harder. Note to self: bring mouse next time!. So anyways.... Todays been interesting. We laz-ed around at home till 6pm then decided to make our way to Nakano (trainstation about two stops from our place) so Nami could pay off a loan and we could do a little shopping at "0101" (they were having a big "sparkling sale").

On the way we went to Lawsons and picked up some Red chicken nuggets, chips, oolong tea and chewing gum. We ended up throwing the chewing gum in the bin by accident when we threw away all the other rubbish.. Oh well... Luckily that rubbish bin is frequently searched by homeless people.. I`m sure it would have been a nice treat. =)

Nakano is a great place. Lots of little food shops along the side streets, huge strip mall with all sorts of random stores including a shop that sold a spraycan pendent (which i wanted to get but it closed before i had made up my mind), shopping centres and people. Lots and lots of people. We spent the first hour looking at high heels ( gosh back to being in a relationship huh!) then ate chinese. That was a real nice change. We ordered hot n sour soup, seafood fried rice, sweet and sour pork and combination Cm with s/n. All for $40.... We were so full.. The workers were all chinese and cooked our food suprizingly fast considering the resturant was packed and only had one chief.... Their japanese skill level was pretty poor but it allowed me to speak more. =) After that we went to look at shops etc and then headed home. I love the way things dont close till 8-9pmish.. WICKED

We then just chilled, and went to sleep... So why am i here?... Just as i was about to drift off at 3.46am i was awoken to Aki and two of her friends stumbling up our stairs. They stomped around, laughed showered and played music to the point that Nami woke up and asked them to quiet down.. I couldnt get back to sleep and thought seeing as i have no plans tomorrow i can just sleep most of the day so thats why I`m here... But yeah... Nami`s sound asleep and i`m sure she doesnt mind the typing sound but i should give her a break.. Thats all for now.. Peace out yall..... oh sorry about the lack of photos. Took the camera with me only to find out it had no battery.. =P

Rockin High Rollerin, Flash Lightin

Next level Kareoke. For those who know Kareoke gone are the days of inputing song numbers in a remote, or even using touch pads. Now they have these little led boxes that light up when you touch them. They also have settings in which you can control the lighting. i.e Pop setting, club setting etc. Very flash!! And this kareoke place was known as being one of the worst as the song choice is limited and sound system average (altough completely destorys K-box or Zoo).

Well as with Any Rock day, I met Shuji in Shinagawa and caught the train with him to Roppongi, we figured that as today is friday we should eat at "fridays". The Food was horrible (prehaps the oil was off) and although its made out to be like a dennys fused with harrock playing country music the amosphere just felt cramped.

Anyhoo we then walked around trying to find somewhere to sing, and for some odd reason most of the Kareoke places were closed. When we did find somewhere it was alright. The raps songs lacked bass and the guitars were a little synthesised. But all in all good Rockin fun.
We then headed back to Shinagawa where Shuji had booked us a table at "Vento" (shuji`s work). He ordered a $130 bottle of champane and heaps of dishes including this pizza (which he normally makes) to test out his replacement. It was a lot of fun. The waiters were polite but friendly making jokes etc, only downside was a korean crew sat next to us, and were extremely rude, yelling at the waiters trying to fit more people than able on their current table and went as far as to take our chair without asking. Little did they know that my crew stand united on our views and we got our chair back including an apology. I told Shuji that we were in a good position as he looked and was a customer so if the Koreans caused trouble to the waiters he could speak up and wouldnt bring down the image of his resturant. Although nothing else happened after that. Just the normal AAAHH YOOONNGGG....

After having such a big nite last yesterday we kept it fairly mellow. A few beers, champane, long island ice teas, moscal mules, and a mageretta for our Dai Lo.

Cheers!!

Shuji and I both wanted to go out somewhere but as there was little to do in Shinagawa and training anywhere would be pointless (as one of us would have to backtrack) we decided to call it a night. I arrived at the Asagaya trainstation at 10.15pm, met Nami and went to Mcdonalds for dinner. Came home and now its off to relax with some 7th heaven. Peace out Young Guns!

DTB

If Nami was in hollywood and Yoohei was a manager....

YO YO so yeah.. here we go, YO!
After six months away from Sake, i had forgotten the Sake Kick.
----------------
1) Sake isnt meant to be taken in shots
2) Stand up between drinks in order to gauge your current status.
3) Dont signal cheers everytime you cant talk to someone in order to connect with them.
4) When you know you are going to be drinking eat a lot before hand!!
Great lessons learnt after todays June DTB party. Nami and I woke up early and spent most of the day just laz-ing around then went to Ueno to meet Nami`s crew. DTB.... DTB is a club that Nami joined when she entered Toyo university several years ago. They have spent numerous amounts of time together and have since formed a family like connection to one another. I first met them all back in 05 and have always felt safe with them and with each meeting our bond naturally grows stronger. Heres the introduction:

This is Yoohei on the right, Nami and Sessan. Sessan stays in
Yokohama, so we were very lucky to have his company. Yoohei has previously taken me to a nightclub, Kareoke and the odd other crazy places.

This is Kazuki (his birthday opening my present) =)
DTB gets together once a month to celebrate all those whos birthday coinsides with that month. Lucky for Kaz hes the only one born in June. So he was the centre of attention. He was extremely happy and suprised at everyones thoughtfulness..

Kaz is also the one who tried to teach me to bowl last year. Unfortunately if you have seen me bowl, some people you just cant help no matter how good the teacher is. . .

<----- Rio (girl) and Takumi. Takumi is Rio`s boyfriend and is not part of DTB. I last met Takumi back in 05 where we talked about playstation games and tourist sights. Hes a kind and thoughtful person and great to have around once you get to know him. Rio is also great, smart, fun and her Japanese is the most comprehend able.

Lastly we have Marripe (on the left), Yuuske (middle) and Izumi. Marripe works at a kimono shop and while she is shy shes kind and fun to be around with. Shes often comes with Nami and I on her day off to go shopping and hang out etc. Yuuske is hilarious! When i first met him he came straight out with very abrupt questions but together with Yoohei these two have been my left and right arms.. ESP for last nite! cheers homies!.. Lastly theres Izumi, shes very cheerful and bubbly, opposite of shy but has a very nice sensitive side. There was one other person too who unfortunately isnt in a big photo but his Name is Ii-chan and he sat next to me for most of last nite drinking. He was commented on being the person who had changed the most as he normally doesnt wear a suit..

Well thats the lot. Sessan took great care of me on the train and Nami made sure i got home safely. It was a Fun nite (well from what i can remember) now i just gotta get some shut eye for Tmrs ROCK day.. Peace yall

7th Heaven Burgers

Gotta love Youtube. With endless amounts of time to type in random search words you always stumble accross some classics. Today i remembered the good ol saturday nites at nanas (playing "homeless kids", building huts, playing with blocks etc) when i found the "Full house" theme song. hehe THen i found the old "step by Step" theme song, even "dianasaurs". Man the good ol days before all these reality tv programs started coming up. Unfortunatly people hadn`t posted any seasons or episodes (well not that i know of) so i was left watching Season 1 of 7th heaven. So far i`ve watched 11 episodes and for anyone who doesnt know how long the program is, its close to an hour long an episode.. None the less i feel i learn a lot from the morals at the end of each episode.. hehe so there goes my daytime..

Nitetime was fun! As it always is when the next day is Nami`s holiday. Today we went to get burgers. I never remember the name but i fell in love with it on my first trip here back in 05. The chips were homemade and until i discovered Freshness burgers there was no other compeition. Anywhoo this is the inside....
As we were seated Nami swore everyone was starring at us. I felt that too but we couldnt work out why, prehaps it was one of my stupid hairstyles. Or maybe my plastic bag that i use as a carry bag, who knows At least it all stopped when we made it to the table..

Nami ordered the burger on the left. Its called a "TEX MEX" burger and was a little spicy well a little more than Nami could handle, luckily there drinks are very generous. They also have vinager!! and Henz totmato sauce! YAY!!

Mine (on the right) was a beast! i tried to create a diamond burger by adding egg and bacon to the standard cheese burger ( i also got extra tomato and avocado <--- gotta keep up with the greens) and it was great. Although given the size of MY mouth i still wasnt able to bite it properly. Then along came the......
NACHOS! These were one of the dishes offed as a Speical season dish. And by golly by gosh what a dish it was. Not only were the Nachos covered in cheese the top consisted of a circle broken down into thirds (sour cream, avocado dip, salsa) and did i mention there was mince under the cheese... SCRUMMY!!! So if anyone is inviting people over and need finger food this is the way to go! GO THE VARIETY!!
Yup yup, Now I`m fully full sitting here typing this. WE wont be sleeping for awhile but i was mid way through season 1 episode 12 clip 3 of 7th so I best be off to watch that.. PEACE-IES!! X

S to the L to the double E ..... P

Cant say that i have been up to much today. Woke up early again and went with Nami to Shinjuku. She brought her monthly contact lens then we went to starbucks. I had Azuki and Nami had an Azuki cake (it wasnt very nice). Nami then went off to work and i went to play games. Clocked time crisis 4 again, on both sides before heading home. At home i drew the following picture with bamboo branches around it. I also spent some time taking photos with the girl hehe so heres one of them...(none of them were very good, gotta learn to hold my hand steady)... =P I then spent the rest of the day drifting in and out of sleep. At nite i met Nami and we had itialian. I got spagetti. It was pretty good nice stringy cheese. When Nami and I arrived home we turned on the aircon and fell asleep. Aki`s sister had to turn the light off for us! hehe.. oh well.. thats ma day! peace

Looonnng dAy

Woke up bright and early and went out for breakfast with Nami before her work. We went to this little cafe in our trainstation. I havent been there since i got back and the stuff it still great. THe coffees are much cheaper than starbucks and they have freshly baked breads etc. I had a Ice Coffee (which was just a cup of ice with coffee poured on top) and a "Maaron Pan" (puffy bun with crushed chestnuts on top) I didnt bring my camera (see this is wat happens when you wake up too early) so theres not photo of it. I`ll take one next time.

We then made a short visit to the bank and it was short! I mean the line itself was at least 50 metres long but due to the massive amount of ATM machines (about 15) it moved fast. THen Nami went off to work and i proceeded to look at the music shop in the trainstatioin and at some magazines. I have always thought the magazines are cool here, they are very topic orientated without all the pointless writtings. (pointless coz i cant read anything)..

At home i did the usual, noodles bleach and dishes. I cleaned Nami`s floor a bit (although its pretty spotless) and that was a mission in itself. Her room has Tatami floors. Therefore you cant wipe it down iwth a normal sponge so we use masking tape. Yup that brown tape, i grabbed a piece of that and did her room. LUckily her room is so small...

10pm rocked up and i walked to the trainstation. Nami was a little late, so i was glad that i had brought my pen to keep me company. Nami wasnt too hungry so we went to Nakau (kinda chain store). It was the first place i had gone to when i first came to japan. ITs cool they have a machine with pictures of food and price, u insert ur money push the button for the disired food and a reciept comes out. YOu then take that to the counter and its done. THe machine does al the changing etc. And with this technology it drastically reduces the cost so the meals are real cheap. But that also makes it popular amongst Salary men, as they dont have anyone to cook for them and are too tired to cook at home.

Later on we went to the 99yen shop (kinda like the $2 shop but more better stuff) and brought a notepad, file, pens and drinks.

We then entered 7/11 and brought these icecreams. THe one on the left is super nice but quite expensive for what it is. The other one is 7/11 brand and i just thought the packaging was so cool. I was wondering how they kept the shape like that till i ate it. It was just like Ice cream cake!.. YUmmy...
Well Nami is busily doing yet another report so i best get back to my AE86 research. Peace Peace!!

Eat sleep Eat

When i think back about what i`ve done today not alot comes to mind. So i`m guessing this will be a very short post.. Lets see... We woke up around 1pm Nami cooked chicken fried rice and i made a toasite ( we were cooking side by side). GO the PANS! Both were nice and was suprisingly big for breakfast, we then sat on our bed and were tossing around ideas as to how we should spend the day and where we could go.... We fell asleep... It wasnt until 6pm that we awoke had a shower and continued just chilling. We both hadnt been to the bank in a while and thought we`d save the 100yen transaction fee by limiting our dinner to the amount of money we had. We had a combined amount of 1560yen. So nothing to flash was on the tables. Nami then found some Mcdonald vouchers. SO we carefully picked out what we wanted (and opted for things we didnt really want in order to use the vouchers) and came up with a menu.

Its cool in Japan, coz we can use as many vouchers at the same time as we want. So for a grand total of 1000yen (about $12) we got a fish burger, chicken nuggets, cheese burger happy set and big mac set. Didnt end up using the Mc flurry one coz we were pretty full..
SO yeah back home, Nami is writting a report. I drew a picture in red and pink with black bamboo in the background and now i`m going to relax with my good friend Ichigo (Bleach`s main character) aiite!! peace peace

Esohe-Hana

Today rocked off with a mellow start. With Nami and I waking up at a suprising 10am, we ate a toastie (bacon, cheeese and egg) and some vege juice (although I only had a sip hehe). I then did my usual scribbling and listening to music. I decided to draw a picture for our friends baby (why i chose to draw a pic for a 1yr old i dont know) and here it is.....
I tried to make it colourful with blue stars, pink hearts, yellows etc. Only to find the picture still in my bag after our visit.. It has since relocated to the trash.. I wonder if "its the thought that counts" still works even if the person didnt know you had even thoughT about it?..
Anyways back to the visit. The girl we were meeting lives in a place quite far from TOkyo (1hr away) in a nice little family home. This house looked huge when compared to our living conditions. So yeah I got to meet up with Saori, Chihiro, Kazu, Shinobu, Akina and her husband James. I also met little Esohe-Hana (Akina`s baby girl) She was real cute dancing away to music and laughing but unfortunatly she went to sleep before i had taken any photos... OH well theres always next time. So yeah heres a group shot of us all...
As Nami and I live the furtherest away we were the first to depart the group. It had been a lot of fun, eating fries, salad and some African fried rice while Snoop Dogg and Dre performed on the big screen (also got to watch MTV, felt like a hotel watching english programs in a foriegn country =P )
YOu would think that catching a train at 11.30pm would mean you`d get a seat right?. NOPE we had to stand for a good 3/4 of the trip. Surrounded my sleeping suits and drunken teens.. Gotta love the saturday Nites in Japan..
Upon arrival we went to Lawsons and picked up a few things, including ice cream. =) And we rushed home as we recieved news that Naoyan was at our house. But he had worked so hard during the day that he had passed out on the floor. But not to worry i drank a little and waited. He woke up around 3am and we spent a couple of hours talking rubbish and catching up (this guy is going to be responsible for my hair) hehe so it was good fun.
Well thats about all from me. Its 6am and the sun is rising. I best be off to bed. I`ll sign off with a pic of Aki advertising Cheap Wiskey. Peace out yall.....................

Tubing Udon

You tube Rocks my socks off... Today i found two great things. One was called the Flying spirit and was a documentary about the lion dance, how it evolved, how one trains, the importance of being a lion dancer and the commitment it takes. "It brings honor to the parents of the participants". YAhoo!! The other thing was also about lion dance, this one was taken from some Malaysian program (kinda mtv like) and two announcers go in search of a Lion. They end up at Sifu Siow`s place and we are taken through the process on how to make a lion, the music (this sifu actually invented sheet music for the lion dance beat), basic steps and we got to watch them train. We also got a glimpse into the stupidity of Malaysian announcers as they try to do the Lion dance, with their fake Japanese like happiness.. grrrr... but interesting doco none the less..

Well apart from that, had the usual instant noodles today. Used one egg to try out the Yum yum stuff and then realised after making it that i had nothing to put it on.. Man wish i was at the shop, could have grilled some prawns or something..

So yeah, 10 o'clock rolls up and i toddled up to the train station. Meet Nami and after watching one guy argue with 2 police men, we then watched as two more cops came, and then another 2 on bicycles.. SO FUNNY!!.. And the guy arguing was tiny... Perhaps he was Chinese and was Bruce lee trained.. (hmmm we never did find out what they were arguing about..) We then went to a Japanese pub. I forgot the name, its the same company that Nami use to work for ( i would ask Nami for the name but she`s fallen asleep).. IT was a little steep but yo It was nice. =)

This is a picture of "Nama grape fruit sour". Its like Japanese vodka and water, then you squeeze your own grapefruit. This is my favorite drink at these kinda places although the alcohol content in it is so watered down its just like a bubbly fruit drink. note: Most places give you a whole grapefruit. Just this place is Cheap...

Next we have a photo of the best UDON noodles ever. They were especially good during the winter periods and given it was summer I was a little unsure if they still had it on the menu (most places change the menu due to seasonal changes) and lucky for me they had it. Its great, the noodles a soft, tender chicken and soup that you just cant get enough of. Although its served in a big bowl, the amount of noodles is so minimal we`d be lucky to get half a rice bowl of noodles between the two of us.. OH well still great GREAT noodles..

On the way home, we stopped at Lawsons, brought some eggs, bread and ice cream (i`m making breakfast tmr) and proceeded home. Upon arrival i remembered that it was my brothers birthday so i asked Nami if i could borrow her phone and have spent the past 10 mins catching up with them. They sound like they are having fun... Wish i was there... It never feels like Friday in Japan.. Theres no sixth sense, no drinking, no meeting da boys... hmmmm oh well, what can ya do?... Anyhoo i`m going to end this here and go watch some more Bleach (Japanese cartoon). Peace!!

ryoori shiyouka?!

Today i ate instant noodles, washing, tidied our room, walked to the train station, went shopping for food and came home.. The most exciting part?... HOME COOKED DINNER... and seeing as i`ve just summarized my entire day I`ma teach you guys how to make....OYAKODON!

Here we go!!

Oyakodon (for two)

Ingredients:
1/2 Onion
Chicken (as much as you disire)
Soya Sauce with fish stock (pic on left)
4 eggs
Ryoorishu (Japanese cooking sake)

Method:
  1. Chop onion into little squares (see pic)
  2. Slice Chicken into squares (see pic)
  3. Heat Pan
  4. Lightly fry onions and put in a bowl
  5. Cook chicken
  6. add a few drops of Ryoorishu
  7. add 3 table spoons of soya sauce (more if desired)
  8. Crack eggs in a bowl and roughly beat.
  9. Add 1/2 cup of water
  10. Slowly pour the eggs in (i.e let some parts of the egg get lightly cooked)
  11. add onions
  12. Scoop out and serve on rice...

The result........................................

OYAKODON

cool huh?!. Sweet simple, easy and nice!! Try it some day, suddenly you can evolve from a microwave chief to a Japanese cooking expert. =)

NOW for those who know what "Yum Yum" umm lets say *Paste* is... This is for you... (aren't you lucky two recipes in one post) =)

YUM YUM PASTE
Ingredients :

15 eggs

2 litres of Oil

Soya sauce

Method:
  1. separate the white from the eggs ( we only use the yellow part)
  2. Beat the eggs
  3. Pour a little oil
  4. Mix eggs
  5. Pour a little more oil
  6. Mix eggs
  7. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until the mixture becomes Mayo like
  8. Add soya sauce (up to your taste)

thats it!! Easy huh!! So all that nonsense about butter and cheese etc are just utter lies. This is brought to you by one of their Ex-chiefs. Enjoy and good luck!

note:

  1. The recipe was noted by a typsy reporter
  2. The chief was also typsy
  3. Exact brand of soya sauce is unrecallable however there arent many japanese soya sauces in nz
  4. This makes a huge bucket of sauce. Use your logic n shrink the quantities if smaller amount is desired.
  5. Dont leak this information.

Well there you have it. Who would have thought the Nyck u knew would turn into Chief Nyck. All good. Well thats about it from me. Peace out yall.. shhhhh..... hehe

Mickey Hide(s) Burgers

Burgers, burgers, BURGERS!! After visiting Mos burgers twice, we had accumulated enough points/stamps to entitle us to Two free burgers. So, we got three burgers, chips, chicken nuggets and drinks for $10. YAHOOO...
After eating Nami wanted to buy a "Congradulations on getting married" card for her friend. However we brought everything else but the card. See, Asagaya is broken down into different areas i.e Train station, houses and Mall/strip. We went to the Mall. This little underground street is packed with tea houses, ice cream parlours, electronic shops and other knick-knacky kinda stores and then we found..... The second hand manga (japanese style comics) and Cd shop. Awesome. So i brought.....

"hide" the best of..... It was only 1000yen. I had researched it and brand new it was going for 3500yen so it was a huge discount. Plus the cd was untouched. =) Pink Spider here we come!! On our walk we passed the Game centre and being the gamers that we are, we just had to play the UFO games. We were rewarded with....

We got them all in one go. Nami is quite the master at this, although she still cant beat my Dai-lo. I remember back in the days, when we use to play pool. My Dai-lo got so many toys the boss gave us a box. Little did he know that he only used about $20 to get 30 toys. And being the cool guy that he is he gave me a few. I chose all the retarded ones so if one day you come into my room you`ll find a blue elephanat with its trunk upside down and a funny looking dog... Aww the good ol days.

Anyway back to now, its pretty hot. I didnt do much for the most part of the day, in summary i ate instant noodles, did the washing, you tubed, emailed got Azuki from starbucks and drew pics. I`m off to jump in the frozen shower. Peace yall

Photo Nai ne!

Today, today today... hmmm another one of those days when ur home by yourself, youtubing the day away. ...

I managed to find the whole Nana movie. This movie is based on a famous japanese manga series involving two girls named Nana and ones ambition to succeed as a rock star. The movie features japanese pop singer Mika Nakashima!. Its awesome. So i was obviously stoked when i found it. I watched the whole thing and although the movie was broken up into ten minute segements it was still enjoyable none the less. I felt inspired.

I then did two full loads of washing and searched around the house to find enough clothes hangers to put up all the clothes. And what do you know 6 o clock creeped up. Now i hadnt eaten but felt that I was going to eat soon with Nami so i thought i`d give it a miss and do some push ups etc instead. Ay yo did you know exercise makes you hungry?...

WEll it made me super hungry, so i couldnt help it but grab two eggs and beat em up with milk, fry up some ham, mushrooms and onions and make an ommlette, of course i had to put cheese on it to top it off... It was great, although for that little to eat there sure was a lot of dishes. hehe I quickly got dressed and made my way to the trainstation. Upon arrival i realised i didndt have any money, so i gapped it to the nearest atm, and lucky for me they had an english option. I got ma money and met nami in shinjuku. We then played Time crisis, took some sticker photos and went off to the underground italian place. I ate mince sauce spagetti and nami had some werid prawn one. None the less the food was nice, although not attractive enough to photograph once again i have given you guys a break from the photos.

After our food, we went to Lawsons (starmart kinda thing) brought some wiskey (which i finished) =P and some strong coffee.. So i`m amped. hehe!! too bad no ones here to ask me stupid questions. WEll i best be off before i write something stupid. Peace yall..

ps: Hey apples, guess what i found? I found a trucker hat that had a rabbit and apples and a phase saying "what has rabbits got to do with apples?" i wanted to take a photo but i wasnt allowed and the hat was too expensive to buy, so ur just going to have to take my word that it exsisted... ohoh i know..... if u guess either the meaning of 24 or the graffiti word i`ll buy it for you and send it to u.!! X

Get Yo FREEEAAAKKKK ON!

Its on!!! wHAT Better way to reward yourself after tidying a room for one day than to go to an amusement park and get freaked out? Whaaaaahoooo!! Nami and I decided that today was go crazy day. After spending a few hours playing games in shinjuku (nami had a doctors appointment) We then ate "freshness burgers" and proceeded to Suidoubashi (home of tokyo dome). Little did i realise that there were roller coasters there! YAHOOO!!! now thats what i:m talking about. I have always thought that anything man made must break down, so with any ride with a clean track record meant there was a chance it could break down on me! (doesnt help after watching final destination 3 either) hehe. SO i was amped. As we arrived at Tokyo dome we saw....

A 80 metre high roller coaster, giant ferris wheel and a tower (tho nothing compared to the 35 story drop that my brother let me experience).... Awesome sight. After many experiences of people backing out of rides, i made Nami promise that if i went on a ride she would too... silly enough she agreed. =P

The roller coaster was pretty long, no loops but enough drops to leave your stomach in every other place but your tummy. It also passed thru this cool little hole, although when ur on the ride ur too scared to appriciate it.

<--- this is the parachute ride. It looks like fun, but when it takes u up 30 stories while u stand (no safety gear what so ever) you start to get a little freaked at the top. However Nami enjoyed the view. For some strange reason her knowing that we were going to be let down slowly calmed her, it damn near freaked the crap out of me, knowing i was going to drop from that height. hmmm prehaps a sign of reactions in relations to the different ways girls view break ups compared to boys ne.!
We went on all the rides, from getting totally drenched in a water ride. To being at the front of a roller coaster thing that shoots you straight up in the air. We also did a few little silly rides, like mini coasters, haunted house, kids nite rides, motion masters etc

We ended the day out in the ferris wheel. It was souped up. Had music playing, soft chairs and a view to die for. This was my first time going on one of these wheels and you know how everyone tells you all these romantic things that happen on them.... Well nothing happened for me... We ended up getting carried away with taking photos, that nothing speical happened... Stink!~

Upon leaving we came accross these really nicely lit trees, although they look fake, they`re actually real and there was a suprizingly a huge amount of space given that its in TOKYO!.

This is of some Arty thing that someone made, i thought it was cool, although the picture doesnt quite capture the amazing lights it does give you some idea.

After that, we rode back to Asagaya where we ate Tempura and rice. I was expecting udon (noodles) but seeing as its summer here, the menu changed. It was alright although the batter was a little too oily, nami felt a little unwell afterwards. Demo nonetheless it was cheap food and i was sweet. hehe..

Aiite enough photos i`ll leave u alone for a bit ( i think the cameras getting tired). So until tmr, peace out yall. X

Home sweet Home

Today A full day of tidying!! well pretty much... Yo We woke up at 10 which was suprizingly early given it was nami`s day off and.....CLEANED. hehe Nami spent 2 hrs in the bath scrubbing it down while i youtubed. I got to foldup the washing, wash the dishes and was going to tidy nami`s room until i realised that if i moved stuff Nami might not know where they belong. . . Oh well what could i do.....
MAN It was so hot inside, we sat around in our shorts from 11am-6pm and ate the most disgusting-ist instant noodles ever (never buy UFo ones, esp the seafood flavor) and sipped on blood orange (pink grapefruit) juice. THe juice was alright, but its much better out of a can.

Around 7ish we took two bags of folded "milk cartons" to recycle. (to do this involved 15 mins walk to the super market) all this so Nami could say "Hey we`re saving the earth". and you know what? They were really quite heavy considering they were only carboard. But Then again there musta been at least 80 cartons. =P

After our green effort, We decided to reward ourselves with Ice cream!. =) I forgot to bring my camera, but i had a Cool Summer 5. Which was a waffle cone, cookies and cream ice cream, brownies, banana and whipped cream topped with choclate sauce. Nami had a sugar cone with Strawberry cheese cake ice cream. And yo, there was real cheese cake!. =)

We then troddled off to dinner. (gotta love our backwardness). I anticipated a bigish day out tomorrow so I put forward the idea to eat somewhere cheap. That lead us to Chinese!. Once again ordered to much and were hardly able to walk out of the shop. We aint a combined, two ramen (noodles), 5 Gyoza, Veges, beef and fried rice!. $20... SCORE!

That was about all.... Oh i did play a UFO game (and i am a Gamer) so if anyone likes minnie mouse put yo hand up aiite!. sweet!. peace!.

~Rock On~

Today was wicked!! I caught three different trains to meet Shuji in Shinagawa (Area occupied by massive businesses, everybody wears suits). Then we made our way to Roppongi. Where we settled in at Tokyo`s Hard rock cafe!. We ordered chicken tenders with a chilli factor of "heavy Metal" and thus this lead to a jug of beer and two long island ice teas each!. The waitress was real funny, she kept coming over to our table and talking random stuff (e.g how drunk she got last nite after drinking long islands and wine) and then we got...........
A members card! YAHOOIZZIE!!!! It entitles us to 5% off which came in handy considering our total bill was close to $100 which Shuji so kindly shouted. THe next stage was to ROCK!!. We went to a Kareoke place down the road and sung skid row, bon jovi, linkin park/jay z, eminem, fort minor and Eric clapton. Being boys we didnt take any photos although we did make some music videos. note: Now this aint no "K-BOX" place. Kareoke room includes 8 (BOSE) speakers, two cordless (SHURE) mics, Echo features, clarity manipulations, big tv, touch screen remotes and well listed songs, also note this kareoke company boosts to have the most amount of songs. From every genre within the Japanese and English spectrum.. e.g. they have SLIP KNOT... Theres also books of thai, korean and chinese songs. After singing.....

We called Nami and arraged to meet near her work at 6.30. . . Shuji had to leave to go to another function and so i was left waiting alone in a unfamiliar area. I wasnt worried at first, coz i was feeling amped, had my headphones, ipod and drawing pad. Unfortnatly the next time i looked at my watch it was 7.45!! I was a little worried coz i thought prehaps i was waiting in the wrong spot and with no cellphone i was kinda stranded. So i had a little walk around and when i came back to the spot Nami showed up. She had been held up at work. (I tell ya,i`m alot luckier in Tokyo than i am anywhere else in the world). =D

Once meeting we decided to go to the `new zealand cafe`. They blasted all of the New zealand music (and as u`d know i`m a huge fan of NZ music.....NOT!!) to which we slipped on Tui`s and nibbled on fish and chips and steak and cheese pie.

<--- Now this is the most expensive Tui ever. It costs about $8 and came on alittle Air New Zealand coaster. hmmm Isnt it strange how you`d never drink Tui`s in nz but coz you`re in a different country.... Now I wonder if i could get a job here? Because i know for a fact i could make better fish and chips than this place. I mean those aint even chips, they`re like those things you buy at the super market to cook at home for afternoon tea etc. Fish was suprisingly good. However the batter not so. And the Pie was like any other pie from StarMart, except the pie cost $19 (incl a few little kumara bits). . . .Can u believe this place was going off?!

Well, While not quite sober I still managed to roll with Nami to Shinjuku where we went to the game centre and played. I caught two toys for $2 and then wasted $10 trying to get these stupid keyrings. And as always to finish off a great day out we took sticker photos!!....

We didnt take many, and the features werent the greatest (features= extra drawings and manipulations that you can do to ur photo). But we had fun. I`m sure we wont take as many as we did last trip. =P .... Hey this is the first time Nami has made an apearance. ne?! "Nami say hello".........Nami says "Yo". =)

Alightly a few things to comment in closing. I have yet to recieve any entries into the "read the graffiti" competition. DId i mention i will ship the prize to anywhere in the world?!!. I WILL!!!. Yo and I also recieved a comment today. =D Whoo HOOO!! its nice to know that someones reading my nonsense. Cheers Apple Chalky. And those that have emailed me or called me to let me know they`ve been reading too, CHEERS EARZ. Smile lots yall I`m outie. PEACE

Totoro, Beer and Home cooked FooD

Who would have thought $18 could get you so much food!! Last nite, Nami and i decided on chinese. What a choice that was.! We got a large plate of fried rice, Large plate of karaage (fried chicken), two bowls of soup, 5 Gyoza (fried dumplings), Large plate of veges and white rice!! And by golly by gosh we were FULL!! i mean packed to the max.

Today.... Finally a real day off. WE woke up bright and early to visit Totoro. It was amazing. THe musem is so cool, but unfortunatly you aint allowed to take photos inside, so I`ma have to take you guys to visit it. There were many rooms, and wicked animation displays and even a unique movie. (mei chan and neko bus- sub story of totoro). THese are some photos taken outside.

This is Kyoshinhei (on the left) from the cartoon Laputa. It stands nearly two stories high. Nami got a photo with him, but when it was my turn, a whole lot of chinese tourist came and i got camera shy. =P Totoro ( right) sits in a little booth at the entrance. WHile he doesnt move, its always a nice to see a great ball of fluff at 10 in the A M. Go Miyazaki!!

Yo so THe musem is located in the west wing of a national park, so afterwards we took a nice stroll around (ended up circling the place 3 times coz we got lost). Its always good been out in about, green-ary is so rare here. Lots of people were out jogging and playing soccer.

It really is a gorgeous park, with water fountains, bridges, mini temples and huming birds. Aparently there was also an elephant too (although we never came across it, there were some strange foot prints in the ground, totoro maybe?....)

THe park is in a place called Kichijyoji (10 min train ride on the chou rapid, from our house) and in the park was a cool little Thai resturant. We ate Tom Yum Kun cooked with Ramen (japanese style noodles) to top it off i had a beer.

The view from our table (pic on the left) in
which i shocked a few people when the flash
went off. =P

The beer from China, there were heaps of choices of beer from all the asian countries and while it was a toss up between this and a Tiger beer, i had to go with the china one. Cheers Boys. =)

We were nakked by the end of our little day out and came home to rest, Nami was out like a light and i talked to my family for a while. WHen she awoke she cooked Bacon and mushroom calbonara and chinese soup! It was delicious, then again home cooked meals usually are. And in the sprit of shared responsiblities i did the dishes (there were a stack load, no wonder why we dont cook at home much). Later on Nami watched tv and my Dai-lo called me and we had a little catch up. Well its about time i hit the hay, I`m running on 7 hrs sleep for two days. Peace out yall. Tmr`s gonna rock!! X style

Azuki

KYOU OfF to a flying start!. Nami had a report due today and was up until 4 trying to finish it. She was so tired at 3.30 i suggested she went to sleep for a few hours and then wake up and finish it. She took my advice and we woke up at 6. You know, who needs sleep anyway?!... so while she finished doing her report i made breakfast. Yup the years at Diamond taught me many practical things and today i made use of my toastie skills. I put together a Ham, Egg and cheese toastie for Nami. I was going to make one for myself but it was a bit too much to eat first thing in the morning ya know... yo note: the key to making a memorable toastie that involves an egg is..... to know how the consumer likes their egg. I would say a good 75-80% of people like a dry egg (although not completely dry) and that statistic increases when applied to an asian market. =) this statistic is generally reversed when the egg is accompanied by bacon. BUT asians still prefer their eggs dry under any circumstances. =P
Well, Nami ended up finishing her report early so we headed to the trainstation and got starbucks. Nothing like caffine to rock ya morning! I had AZUKI frapachino (kinda red bean mix) and Nami had Ice coffee.. THe AZUKI was wicked, it was like complan (vanillia) with a few extra gritty bits. look look.....

Azuki on the left. Nami no Te in the background. =) we took some photos of ourselves posing too but we look so sleepy. (We should have taken the photos after we had the caffine) =P
Nami went to work and I took some more photos of our hood. Lets look. =)
Given that Asagaya is just a small area its got a lot of unique things. For example the pictuer on the left shows a doorway rite?. That little hole leads into a resturant. I love their style of advertising, there are no signs, no name etc just the hole in the wall. And if ya look at the bike in comparisim to the doorway you can come to the understanding that the hole is pretty darn small. =) unfortunatly we would never go there, as it looks like you have to know the owner to dine there. Oh well. plenty of other places to go eat. =)

NOthing that speical, i just like the way they had stuck the coloured girl over the black and while picture. This is Tokyo`s version of Vandalism. Much more socially accepted as "street art" as opposed to "graffiti". Although there is the odd tags around, you really have to go to the graffiti spots in order to see the big "pieces". I have yet to find out whether its legal to paint in those spots. If so, i`d like to pick up a can again. Its been awhile. =P

Hmmm, i have alot of other photos, mainly of vending machines and streets etc. I`ll post them in a later entry. For now, i`m going to get my B into G`s and power skip to the train station. Peace...

p.s: Finally caught up to date with the entries. I`m set to have an awesome next few days as Nami has fri, sun and mon off and Sat i`m meeting my little brother "Big" shuji!! aiite, ROck on!.

pp.s: We`re having japanese tonite, hopefully. We`ll also be having an early nite, as we`ve got a date with TOtoro tomorrow morning. WOOT WOOT!~

BLOG = EXERCISE

Blog is great for exercising. Strange isnt it? You may wonderwhy rite? i mean how is it that by sitting infront of a computer typing that would be classified as exercising (apart from the finger workout). Well in my case, this blog is to give people an insight into my everyday life. Today has been much the same as the past few days so i thought i`d liven it up. I went for a walk around my hood!! (i`d go for a run, but seeing as i didnt bring the `Nelly` shoes, RUN DMC ones aint the best for ur ankles) And its with this reasoning that i can state "BLOG IS GREAT FOR EXERCISING" well at least it gets me some fresh air. =)

my trainstation foyer. I Stand in this position everyday nami has work. So for the next two months, if anyone ever decides to give me a suprise visit, i`ll be at the asagaya trainstation at 10pm. =) Holler!!

TIcket centre!. THe map above displays the train route and price to each area from this train station. Unfortunatly its all in Kanji (Chinese characters). This is evident in smaller towns/cities. The larger more popular areas have maps in both Kanji and english.

For a large population Tokyo is up there with recyling. Everywhere you go, rubbish is classified into two catorgories; 1)burnable 2)non-burnable. Where it goes i`m not sure. And as far as recyling, i`m not sure if burning rubbish is any better on the enviroment (as pointed out by my big bro). Prehaps its not even recyling but a purely selfish way that Japan uses in order to save space (grrr while we gotta suffer the ozone hole, Al Gore wouldnt be too happy about that now would he?!)

After my little walk, i came home cooked the usual lunch and did the usual youtube stuff. Oh and i came accross something, for all u jokers peep this....

two ropes were lying outside a pub ay, one piece of rope jumped up on the bar and said `ah could i have a drink please` and the barman said `we dont serve rope here` `i beg ur pardon` said the rope. `you are a rope aint you?* replied the barman. `Why yes i am` answered the rope. So the rope goes outside and saids to his mate *theres no use we cant get served there* the other rope says `i`ll get us a drink give me your comb!`... He fluffs up the top of his head and ties himself in a bow and walks up to the bar. *ah could i have a drink please* *we dont serve rope, you are a rope aint you?* answered the barman *no i`m afraid Knot* hehehehehehe hmmm i wonder if that came accross as funny as it does when acted out. Esp by the great Billy T.

Man Mr James really was a legend, i didnt realise how FOB he was until recently, i guess i was just too young to pick up on it when he was around. YOu do find amazing stuff on youtube. Then again you also find alot of useless stuff. =P
Well off to Mcdonalds for dinner, been hanging out for a double cheese burger for the past 6 months. I`m going to finish here coz i think Aki needs the computer when she gets home. Aiite Itte kimasu!! Peace
